Three-time Oscar-winning actor Daniel Day-Lewis may be coming out of retirement, as he has been seen on the set of his son’s debut feature film, titled Anemone. Known for his method acting and acclaimed performances in films such as My Left Foot and There Will Be Blood, Day-Lewis retired in 2017 after Phantom Thread. He is the only actor to have won three Best Actor Oscars. The film, also starring Sean Bean and Samantha Morton, explores familial dynamics and marks Day-Lewis’s return to the screen. The actor had previously retired in 1997 to pursue shoemaking in Italy before returning for Gangs of New York. Director Martin Scorsese has expressed interest in collaborating with Day-Lewis again. Anemone, co-written by father and son, has no release date as of yet. Focus Features chairman Peter Kujawski expressed excitement for Day-Lewis and his son’s shared vision. Fans are eagerly anticipating the return of the legendary actor to showcase his exceptional talent once again on the big screen.
