Day 1 of the 2024 Dushanbe Junior World Championships: A Glimpse into the Future of Judo


The Junior World Championships in Judo kicked off in Dushanbe, Tajikistan with some thrilling matches on day one. China’s Hui Xinran claimed the title at -48kg by defeating Japan’s Yoshino Sachiyo. Defending champion Fukuda Yamato from Japan also secured victory at -60kg. Oi Iroha and Fukuchi Shuntaro won gold in the -52kg and -66kg categories respectively. The event was graced by the presence of Olympic bronze medalist Somon Makhmadbekov, who delighted local fans with autographs and photos.

The tournament received high praise for its organization, venue, and hospitality. Hui Xinran expressed her dream of becoming an Olympic champion and thanked Tajikistan for the warm welcome.
