Interstate 93 in Bow, NH was shut down in both directions on Tuesday morning after a propane tanker rolled over and caused multiple crashes on the northbound side. Firefighters and EMTs from Bow, Hooksett, and Allenstown responded to the scene near Mile Marker 33, where the truck was leaking fuel and causing a grass fire. The truck was carrying around 150 gallons of vapor, with additional fluids leaking as well. The highway closure was confirmed by New Hampshire State Police, who were working to clear sections of the road and get traffic moving again.
A hazmat team and another tanker were requested to the scene, and several people were taken to Concord Hospital by ambulance. Despite the chaos, there were no reported injuries connected to the other collision. The situation was swiftly handled by emergency responders, with the grass fire being extinguished around noon.
