Secretary of State David Scanlan is anticipating a high voter turnout and a smooth, safe experience for the upcoming general election in New Hampshire. While the official turnout prediction is yet to be released, Scanlan expects many people to register on Election Day, especially in college towns. Addressing concerns about security, Scanlan stated that he has no indication of any threats at this time. So far, 85,000 absentee ballots have been requested for the election, suggesting a record high turnout compared to previous years.
In an effort to clean up voter rolls, about 100,000 inactive voters have been removed after a routine verification following the 2020 census. Technological advancements at polling stations, such as electronic check-in systems and new voting devices, are expected to contribute to a more efficient voting process this election.
