Tragic Collision Claims Young Life in Walpole
Walpole, N.H. – A tragic accident occurred on Wednesday afternoon when a 22-year-old man from Marlborough, N.H., lost his life in a collision with a school bus. The incident took place at approximately 3:13 p.m. on Route 12, near Connector Road.
According to Walpole Police Chief Justin R. Sanctuary, Dietrich Kern Praska was driving a 2006 Saab 9-3 southbound when he crossed the centerline and collided with a bus operated by the Fall Mountain Regional School District. Sadly, Praska succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The bus driver, Marie Robbins, 65, from Alstead, N.H., was airlifted to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester for treatment. Fortunately, the two students on the bus suffered only minor injuries and were transported by ambulance to local hospitals for evaluation.
As investigations continue, the conditions of Robbins and the injured students remain undisclosed. Local authorities are working diligently to determine the circumstances surrounding this devastating event.
This incident serves as a grim reminder of the dangers on the road, especially involving large vehicles like school buses. Community members have expressed their condolences and offered support during this difficult time.
