UAlbany football faced another early deficit they couldn’t recover from, as New Hampshire scored an 86-yard touchdown just four minutes into the game. The Great Danes suffered their third straight loss, falling to New Hampshire 31-14. The Wildcats’ quarterback Seth Morgan threw three touchdown passes, and Wande Owens added an interception return for a touchdown. UAlbany quarterback Myles Burkett exited the game with an injury, and backup Trey Lindsey stepped in to pass for 117 yards and a touchdown, as well as rush for 58 yards and another score.
The Great Danes, now 3-6 overall and 1-4 in CAA play, will face rival Stony Brook next week for the Golden Apple trophy. Despite the loss, UAlbany showed resilience with Lindsey leading the offense in Burkett’s absence. The team will look to bounce back and finish the season strong.
New Hampshire’s victory improved their record to 5-4 overall and 3-2 in CAA play. The Wildcats dominated early in the game, setting the tone with the early touchdown and maintaining control throughout. UAlbany will need to regroup and focus on preparing for their upcoming matchup against Stony Brook.
