Hofstra University’s men’s cross country team is set to compete in the NCAA Division I Northeast Regional Championship this Friday, November 15, at the Hopkinton Fairgrounds in New Hampshire. The 10K race is scheduled to commence at 12 p.m., and fans can follow the live race results via Lancer Timing, with links provided on GoHofstra.com.

This event follows the team’s recent performance at the 2024 CAA Championship held on November 1 in Elon, North Carolina. Notably, Abraham Longosiwa earned All-CAA postseason honors, finishing second in the men’s 8K race with an impressive time of 24:22.20. Other Hofstra runners included Brian Beck (36th, 26:21.10), William Thu (27th, 26:24.00), Alex Walsh (53rd, 27:14.60), and John Ortiz (82nd, 29:50.40).

Head Coach Vincent Giambanco has indicated that the lineup for Friday’s championship will be finalized closer to race time, emphasizing the importance of strategic decisions based on current conditions.

The stakes are high for the Pride at this regional competition, as the top three teams will secure spots in the upcoming NCAA Championship. Additionally, the top two runners from non-qualifying teams can still earn a chance to compete at the national level, adding an extra layer of motivation for Hofstra’s athletes.
