Hampshire, a three-time T20 Blast champion, is among the teams invited to participate in the inaugural Global Super League, a new T20 cricket tournament set to take place in South America. The competition, with a reported prize pot of $1 million, is sanctioned by Cricket West Indies and supported by the government of Guyana. Alongside Hampshire, South African franchise The Titans is also expected to compete in the tournament.
This groundbreaking event, the first stand-alone cricket tournament in South America, will feature five teams from five different countries, including the Guyana Amazon Warriors. All matches will be held at the Guyana National Stadium in Providence, with a capacity of 20,000 spectators. The tournament is scheduled to run from November 26 to December 7.
