Vice President Kamala Harris hosted a rally near Atlanta that featured remarks from former President Barack Obama and a performance by Bruce Springsteen. This was the first time Harris and Obama shared the stage during this election cycle. Harris thanked Obama for his friendship and support, noting their history from his presidential campaign in 2007. The presence of Obama at Harris’ events is seen as a way to boost voter enthusiasm and unite the Democratic base. Obama has also appeared at other campaign events, including one with Harris’ running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz. In addition to rallies, Obama is set to do interviews with podcasters and internet personalities who reach Black audiences. Michelle Obama is also expected to campaign with Harris in Michigan. Springsteen, who endorsed Harris, is among the celebrities appearing at her events. Other stars, such as Spike Lee and Samuel L. Jackson, have also shown their support. Harris is scheduled to host Beyoncé at an event in Houston. These appearances by influential figures are part of Harris’ closing pitch to voters as she makes a final push towards Election Day.
