Ukraine War Update: President Zelenskyy comes to US to seek crucial support for Kyiv

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is in the US to present his “victory plan” to end the conflict with Russia to President Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and Donald Trump. Zelenskyy visited an ammunition factory in Pennsylvania where he thanked the US for its support and called for more help. UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy is pushing for the White House to allow Ukraine to use Storm Shadow missiles inside Russia, emphasizing the need for “nerve and guts”. Meanwhile, fake news websites registered in the UK are spreading disinformation about western companies operating in Ukraine, prompting calls for stricter regulations. In another development, Russia carried out air strikes in Kharkiv, Ukraine, injuring 21 people in a second consecutive night-time attack. Additionally, a Ukrainian firefighter was killed by a drone in the Russia-controlled Luhansk region while extinguishing a fire triggered by fallen drones. Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s visit to the US comes at a critical time as Ukraine seeks support to end the conflict with Russia and secure peace in the region.
