A shooting in Birmingham, Alabama early Sunday left at least four people dead and dozens injured in one of the city’s popular entertainment districts. Police arrived at the scene after 11 p.m. and found two adult males and one adult female unresponsive on the sidewalk, suffering from gunshot wounds. Another victim was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. Investigators believe there were multiple shooters who fired on a group of people, and are seeking information from the public to help identify and arrest those responsible. No suspects are in custody at this time. Authorities have not specified a motive for the shooting, but did confirm that the victims were targeted while out in the open, not inside a business. Businesses with security cameras in the area are asked to review footage and provide any relevant information to the investigation. The FBI and ATF have been called in to assist with the case. This incident marks the second mass shooting in Birmingham this year, following a similar event in July where four people were killed at a nightclub. Police are determined to bring those responsible to justice and ensure the safety of the community.
